Yule, Lithas, Winter Solstice I

From Birthing Death, Birthing Life A project that can both symbolically and literally aid you in this.

You will need:

  • Paper clay, or other sculptable and biodegradable media
  • Seeds, from your garden, a packet, or crushed or whole acorns are fine to.
  • I choose to add the ash I save from my samhain offerings and burnings. This is to allow the past to nourish the future. The dead to nourish life.
  • Because I encountered a double yoked egg at this season, I have chosen to crush it and add it with the intention 1) that my growth will equally nourish myself and all those around me 2) that my efforts will hold double yield 3) that dual goals can be accomplished through single efforts.
After your ingredients are well mixed I will shape it. The moment will have to speak and choose it, but often it is an egg, star, or womb shaped. When dry it can be written on or decorated with words, symbols or more.

On the solstice place it in the ground. Which often means, for some, the daunting task of digging through frozen soil. In the ground it will go to start its journey to life. In the belly of the ground my intentions will wait till the time of germination that universe allows with the warming of the seasons to come.
